The Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development will be celebrating the Nelson Mandela Week starting from the 13 July 2010. The Nelson Mandela Day campaign was launched last year by President Jacob Zuma to celebrate the birthday of Mr Mandela as well as the tireless contribution he has made for the country.
As part of the activities, the officials of the department will roll-up their sleeves and be hard at work in establishing vegetable gardens for the communities across the province from the 12th to 14th. . On the 14th-15th the department will be painting at Warrenton Hospital and the main activity will be on Sunday at Valspan in Jankemp Dorp, where 30 households will receive garden tools, vegetables seeds and seedlings.
